  How the Revised, Revised NWT COULD Look Online....

  there must be an abundance of scriptures just waiting to be reworded by the magnificent seven in brooklyn.

  here are a few i'd offer.

  i'd love to hear suggestions for other "revisions" by my fellow contributors here.. (psalm 110:4) "jehovah has sworn an oath, and he will not change his mind: "you are a priest forever in the manner of melchizedek, but you will be joined by another 144,000 melchizedek-type king/priests.

  What The Org Teaches: #1 DEALING WITH SINNERS

  to help those who are fading and those who visit this site anonymously - due to org-induced paranoia regarding "evil apostates" - i'd like to offer some examples of doctrinal teachings for them to examine closely.. hopefully it will provide a bit of comfort for some, to see that their doubts are fully justified.. i'll post a few - one each day - to demonstrate that "the truth" of the org is not what j.w.

  if a sinner is found to have committed a serious sin, they should be confronted by a witness who has first-hand knowledge of the offender's sin.

  the degradation of the governing body members continues on.

  mark sanderson gives a talk regarding his visit to belgium for the memorial this year and was travelling from korea to munich to brussels, belgium on the day of the belgium terrorist attacks.he cannot wipe the smirk on his face as he relates his experience, with no regard whatsoever of all those unfortunately affected by the attacks.

  in fact, he personally found god's hand affecting him personally, allowing him to attend the memorial as planned and a kh dedication.he is that privileged during his flight travels that internet was available to him, enabling him to catch up on current news and to contact branch's.

  Wow. They care only for their own agenda. Nothing else matters. Nothing and nobody else matters.

  And they would even see these "worldly" deaths as a good thing because these people will get a resurrection, yay! Another moment or so later (soon, though!), if Jehovah kills them at Armageddon, they would not be resurrected.

  the recent closure of jwr made me realize that this site may not be eternal as well.

  a great deal of people attach a lot of importance to xjw communities and yours is the best.

  Simon, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to explain things and give us much-needed reassurance!
  
  In light of the terrible mishandling of JWR's rude, abrupt and short-sighted closure, I really appreciated your very intelligent, compassionate, and reasonable description on how one would properly (with compassion and awareness!) bring a forum to an end:

  "... It's hard to predict the future and make absolute promises but I can't imagine ever just shutting the site down without any warning and if it was going to end, would imagine it would be a staged process - initially disable new registrations, eventually disable posting (after a lengthy period) and then have the site read-only for as long as possible. Basically, provide as much opportunity as I could for any transitioning."

  i am sure that after the dust of the jwr shutdown has settled, you will find this to be a good new home.. i would like to apologize for the sudden closure of jwr.

  I am very hurt and saddened by the abrupt and rude way the "support" forum was shut down and closed off -- if there were some upsets or problems, it was unfortunate that a few "bad apples" were allowed to spoil the whole bunch....

  I too, had bookmarked pages of great information and helpful, healing posts from that site, and even had it mentioned in my will that if any family wanted to know about my journey out of a cult, that they could look up my posts over there under my user name, MuddyWaters.

  I see that was very short-sighted of me, and I should have printed out my posts and saved them somewhere. We were never even given the opportunity to do this, it's as though all the members were disfellowshipped in one great unprecedented move ...

  The most attractive aspect of that site was its emphasis on HEALING and recovery... There were a lot of posts expressing pain, bewilderment, confusion, sorrow, loss.... yet hilarious comeradarie too. Designer Stubble was often the first person to welcome and respond to all the new people (including myself) who were lost and looking for a safe place to land.

  The forum was unique and special. Many members, including myself (in a very small way) helped support it financially (and I would be happy to do the same for this forum too!)

  So it feels extra-shitty to be left in the cold this way. Very poor form. I agree with Slimboyfat about his example of how the forum should have been closed: to give notice, a reasonable time frame to copy valuable information, exchange contact info, etc.

  i just tried to go to the site and there is a goodbye message.

  i was a member there since 2010. i was really surprised.

  i had just started posting there again after being away for a while.

  This is sad news.... I too posted there and valued very much the people there & their insights and support. It was the first place I landed upon my awakening, and there is a wealth of information there...

  I feel too that my awakening process was all "documented" there, kept safe, with so many helpful, loving comments and support... so many Links to much valuable information... The site was VERY easy to navigate and search. I can't believe that nothing is planned to be archived or saved!!! this hurts,

  This hurts a lot.

  It's like a sudden, shocking, out of the blue announcement: "JWR is no longer one of ..."us"...."

  No more contact, no more anything, case closed... I think the members deserve better, a lot of people shared their soul on that site...

  No opportunity to even transfer ownership, etc?

  It feels like the admins and mods have just coldly "disfellowshipped" everybody there!

  Perhaps the JW brain/mindset can never be fully eradicated...

  I guess the local people are supposed to be impressed by this, how friendly-seeming and accepting-seeming are the JWs to their culture.... But it is all for show, as we all well know.
